Discover the Bondi to Bronte Walk

Discover the Bondi to Bronte Walk-Bondi Joe Swimwear
One of our favourite things to do when in Bondi is the Bondi to Bronte beach walk. Taking you over the clifftops from Bondi beach to Bronte beach, this iconic walk is as famous as the two beaches it connects.

Getting to the Bondi Bronte Beachwalk

You can start the walk at either beach. To get to Bondi, grab a 333 bus from the city and travel for 30 minutes or so toward the beach. Other buses connect to Bronte if you want to start at that end.

Which end of the walk should I start at?

Either side is great to start from. More people go from the Bondi side as transport to Bondi from Sydney city is easier. Some people prefer to go from Bondi to avoid looking into the sunlight (depending on the time of the day). We recommend going both ways and doing a loop back once you’ve finished. There is so much to see and do that going passed a second time will still be fun!

How do you find the start of the Bondi to Bronte walk?

If you’re not familiar with the layout it can be confusing to find the start of the walk! From the Bondi side, if you are facing the beach, you need to turn right and walk behind the Bondi Icebergs club. Once passed the club you will see the start of the path leading down around a rocky bay. That’s the start! From the Bronte side, you need to go left from facing the beach and walk passed the surf club and lawn picnic area. The path leads up steps and goes right.

What will you see on the walk?

There is plenty of great sights to see on the Bondi to Bronte Walk. One highlight is the lookout spot close to the Bondi end where people have been known to see whales off the coast. Tamarama beach is also a highlight on the walk. The small beach has a long sand strip that the walk takes you around. If you want to have a quick stop on the walk, go down onto the beach and dip your toes into the water. Also checkout the iconic Tamarama surf club building on the cliff top as you walk passed. Another highlight on the walk are the amazing houses owned by the rich and famous along the water’s edge. Try and find a favourite amongst the multi-million dollar homes, with their amazing balconies, infinity pools and large windows! The Bondi to Bronte walk is a great day out for people watching and exercise so pack a bottle of water, you’re favourite swimwear (ours of course!) and some good shoes, and have a great day! Don't forget the pack your swimwear and go for a swim at the beach after the walk - checkout our 5 Tips for Swimming at Bondi for more information.

Some helpful stats about the walk:

• Distance: 2.5 km (one way) • Duration: 1.5 hours • Grade: Easy • Dogs: can take a dog, but must be on a lead Bondi joe
