Noosa Beach is one of the few beaches in Australia's east coast that faces north, making swimming at Noosa just perfect! Located in the Sunshine Coast, this gorgeous beach is known for its moderate waves and clear waters that offer a safe swimming spot all throughout the year, thanks to its unique positioning. If you're looking for a place to relax and have some fun in the sun with your mates and loved ones, then pack your mens swimwear and head over to Noosa Beach.
Surfing and swimming at Noosa
Noosa Beach is accessible by different kinds of transportation. If you're coming in from other parts of the country, you can fly to Maroochydoore at the Sunshine Coast. From the airport, you can ride the 622 bus to Noosa Junction. You can also make your way to Brisbane airport and use one of the airport's many transfer services.
To get there by train, you can get off at Eumundi, Cooroy, Nambour, or Pomona station and then take a connecting bus or taxi to Noosa. If you prefer to bring your own vehicle, travel about 150 kilometres north from Brisbane via the Bruce Highway.
Once you get there, you'll find that there are so many things to do at Noosa Beach. If you'd like to swim and/or surf, there's Noosa Main Beach to cater to your needs. Its fine sand and moderate waves are perfect for beginner surfers. For dog-lovers who have brought their canine companion along with them, there's Noosa Spit, where the dogs are free to run around without their leash on.
In case you're an advanced surfer and you're looking for more challenging waves, pack your men’s swim trunks and make your way to Alexandria Bay or to First Point, where you can surf on an awesome longboard break. If you're a complete beginner, you can take lessons and learn from some of the best, including former world champion Merrick Davis, who has a surfing school in Main Beach.
If you get tired of swimming at Noosa, there also a lot of other water activities you can try. You can go fishing, paddle-boarding, diving, kayaking, and boating at Noosa Beach.
Things to Do other than swimming at Noosa!
Forgot to bring your own food? Don't worry, there are lots of restaurants and cafes near the beach that can help fill your tummy once you get hungry after swimming or surfing all day. For starters, there's Locale, a modern Italian restaurant, and Berardo's Restaurant and Bar, which offers seafood. If you want something Asian, you can try Embassy XO, which serves Asian fusion cuisine, and Wasabi, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Australia.
Stay at Noosa for the night so you won't miss the place's vibrant night life. If you're looking to have a round of drinks with your mates, there's Miss Moneypenny's along Hastings Street and Rumba Wine Bar. And if you're up for some outdoor adventure, swap your men's swimwear for comfy clothes so you can go horse-back riding on the beach or go hiking with your friends in the nearby hinterlands the next day.
