The Bondi to Coogee Walk

The Bondi to Coogee Walk-Bondi Joe Swimwear

Sydney is home to many gorgeous places to explore and just as many popular tourist attractions! One of the most popular (besides our lovely beaches) is the Bondi to Coogee Walk. Why is this so popular and what makes it so special? Today, we'll "walk" you through it (pun very much intended). Let's get into it!

Fast Facts

  • Distance: 6km one way
  • Time: 2-3 hours (if you don't stop at the beaches!)
  • Walkability: Suitable for most. There are some sections with somewhat steep stairs, so be aware of that. Not suitable for those in wheelchairs or those with trouble walking.
  • Beaches: Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee
  • Furry Friends: Dogs are allowed on the walk so long as they are friendly and remain on their leash at all times!

What Is the Bondi To Coogee Walk?

The Bondi to Coogee Walk is a walking trail that leads through 6 km of Sydney, Australia. From start to finish, the walk will take roughly two to three hours. That being said, most people spend entire days on the walk, stopping at the beaches along the way! The Bondi to Coogee Walk is dog-friendly, but leashes are required at all times for the safety of other visitors. There are water fountains located at each beach along the way, but we recommend bringing along the water for you and your dog, especially on warm days.

Almost anyone can spend a day walking through this wonderful path! Before you plan your trip, it's important to note that the terrain is not suitable for everyone. There are numerous spots that include relatively steep stairs, and the path itself is not flat throughout. That being said, anyone who had trouble walking, and those in wheelchairs, would be better off sitting the trip out. They can enjoy a day on one of the beaches, though, which is still a fantastic day in our opinion! There are also several open areas, including parks with BBQ stations to gather for a family meal! As always, be sure to clean up after yourselves to keep this Sydney staple looking gorgeous for other visitors!

Bondi Beach

What Beaches Does It Include?

The Bondi to Coogee Walk starts at our home, Bondi Beach! As you likely already know, Bondi Beach is one of the largest and most popular in Australia! Just off the beach is the entrance to the walk, and beachgoers often go for at least a small hike when they need a break from the bright sun and strong waves. The walk takes you to Tamarama Beach with some gorgeous views in between! You can look over the ocean and enjoy the cliffs in the area! If you continue on from Tamarama Beach, you'll come across Bronte Beach, the third stop on the walk. Here you can find a nice park with BBQ areas and cafes to stop at for lunch or dinner. There's a gorgeous ocean pool at Bronte Beach that many walkers will choose to spend some time at before continuing their journey! If you keep walking, you'll pass by Calga Reserve and Waverly Cemetery where many famous Australians were laid to rest. You'll then come across Gordon's Bay, a small beach teeming with fishing boats! If you're an avid diver or snorkeler, you likely want to stop here. It's home to a 600m underwater "nature trail" that you won't want to miss! The final stop is Coogee Beach, a calm and stunning beach with natural rock pools, picnic areas, cafes, and the Coogee Pavillion.

Bondi Beach

We hope you'll check out the Bondi to Coogee Walk the next time you are in Sydney! It's a day's worth of fun for the whole family! Why settle for one beach when you can visit all of these? Before you head out, order yourself a pair of Bondi Joe swim trunks! They are liner-free for all-day comfort, quick-drying, and pair wonderfully with t-shirts when you're ready to head to the next location. As a tip from Sydney insiders, it's a good idea to use public transportation to get to the walk or at least carpool. The parking is limited in Bondi, particularly during the summer months! Order yourself some designer men’s swimwear at www.bondijoe.com
