Tips & Tricks to Have The Perfect Beach Day

Tips & Tricks to Have The Perfect Beach Day-Bondi Joe Swimwear

Summer is many people's favorite season! Warm weather, long days, and open beaches are the perfect recipe for a good time. Millions of people flock to beaches during the summer months to soak up the sun and relax with friends and family. At Bondi Joe, we know a thing or two about beach life. We've compiled some of our favorite tips for making sure every beach day is fantastic!

Know When Your Favorite Beach is Packed

If you truly want to have the best time at the beach, it's important to go when it isn't crammed with people. If you frequently visit one beach, we suggest trying to figure out which days or times it is a bit quieter. You'd be hard-pressed to find a time where any beach is empty, but there are time frames where you won't have to deal with hundreds of other beachgoers. You can find out when peak times are through trial and error, asking staff, or even turning to online reviews! Generally speaking, weekends are very busy times for beaches, and might not be the best for unwinding. If you are planning to go on the weekend, get there early to set up and claim a space, or wait until around 5:00 or 6:00 to head over. Most people spend the day at the beach and head home around this time. You'll hit far less traffic on your commute and you're much more likely to find an open area to claim.

Pack A Beach Bag

Our second beach tip is to back a bag with essentials! There are bags designed specifically for the beach that are either mesh or water-resistant fabric. These are the best options, but any bag can work. In this bag, we suggest packing an extra pair of sunglasses, some sunscreen, baby powder for removing sand, a plastic baggie if you plan to change out of your wet bathing suit, some small bills, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and other odds and ends. If you travel to the beach regularly, you should pick up items that are going to live in your beach bag. This way, if you forget your favorite pair of sunglasses or your new bottle of sunscreen you have backups! A bag is the easiest way to bring your things onto the beach with you. Get one large enough to toss in your towel, a book, a portable phone charger, and anything else you want to have with you. You can even leave the bag in your car in case there's ever an impromptu beach day!

Don't Forget About Sun Protection

This tip is obvious, but it's extremely important. Sun protection will save you a lot of pain and suffering later on. Sunscreen is essential to protect your skin from harsh UV rays from the sun. SPF 30 is a safe bet. The lower the SPF the higher the chance of tanning, but take it too far and you're prone to burns! You can find a sunscreen with SPFs as high as 100, but studies question the effectiveness of anything above 50. Be sure to reapply sunscreen every few hours to keep it working. Besides sunscreen, always remember to wear a hat or sunglasses, bring some light clothes to throw on when you're not in the water, and invest in a big umbrella to give yourself some shade. Nothing ruins a great beach day more than a horrible sunburn the next day!

Relax and Get Comfortable

The most important thing to do at the beach is relaxing! What's relaxing for you might not be relaxing for someone else, so we can't provide too many specific tips here. However, if you want some inspiration, here are a few things people love to do at the beach!

  • Read
  • Listen to audiobooks
  • Listen to music
  • Nap
  • Sit and watch the water
  • Make sandcastles
  • Chat with friends

No matter how you relax, you should always be comfortable. Men, if your department store swim trunks are bothering you, it's time to switch it up! Unlike other brands, Bondi Joe's swim trunks are liner-free. They dry in just minutes and feel just like shorts! You can even wear them to a restaurant or a pub nearby. Sitting in soggy shorts is never fun, so we designed swimwear to prevent it. We offer a fit and comfort guarantee. If you don't love your Bondi Joe swim trunks, we'll take them back. With a pair of Bondi Joes, your beach day will always be comfortable and wonderful. Shop our Summer 2020 Collection at www.bondijoe.com

We hope these tips have helped you plan your next beach adventure. Visiting the ocean is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer day. Unwind with your family and friends before the season is over! Stay safe and healthy and enjoy your time in the sun!
